Job SummaryBiomedical technicians perform preventive maintenance and inspect, test and repair medical equipment. In order to ensure proper patient diagnosis and treatment, biomedical equipment must be capable of producing accurate readings, so biomedical technicians calibrate equipment by adjusting software and mechanical components. Maintains safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests, recommending and complying with procedures, training and guiding medical and healthcare personnel and complying with codes.

Job Responsibilities:



 




  1. Maintain scheduled work assignments of repairs, preventative maintenance, and projects.

  2. Respond timely to on-demand situations as appropriate.

  3. Provide clinical/engineering interface as appropriate.

  4. Maintain database with accuracy and kept current.

  5. Maintain parts/supplies inventory at appropriate par levels.

  6. Participate in evaluation/selection and training of new equipment and systems as appropriate.

  7. Keep Managers and Directors informed of information related to each as necessary.







Qualifications







Education Requirements and Other Requirements:



 



Education Level: Associates in Biomedical Equipment Repair and/or Electronics or Military Equivalent



Certification/Licensure: none



Experience Requirements: 2 years hospital based experience
